For the past couple of days we’ve been kicking back on Ko Phi Phi. We’ve spent days on the beach swimming and snorkeling, and the evenings eating on the beachfront restaurants and drinking cheap booze.
We’ve visited the town, Ton Sai, which involves a 10 minute boat trip – the town is on a small sand-bar so has a beach on either side. It was completely destroyed in the Tsumani of 2004, indeed much of the island was destroyed, so all buildings have been built in the last 5 years. It’s more commercialized than we’d expected, with lots of bars and restaurants. Sharazed and I had a fish foot massage whilst Pabs and Matt went for beers!
On Tuesday we met a couple of new friends at the Buddha bar, Denise and John, whom Sharazed has threatened to stay with when she leaves next week!
