Iguaçu, Argentina: 23rd - 24th March 10

Yesterday we travelled back from El Calafate to Buenos Aires where we stayed in our fab room again at the Bo Bo and went for a fab meal.

Today we flew to Iguaçu, where we’re staying in a hotel with a room overlooking the falls. It’s ‘silly expensive’, but we only have a day here so thought we ought to stay as near to the falls as possible!

Iguaçu falls are famous for being one of the most beautiful places on earth and they really are quite special. They’re surrounded by jungles, full of animals – and we’re had close encounters with toucans and raccoons - literally the raccoons were walking right up to us on the footpaths!

We started off with a trip on a small train and then walked along several walkways across the Iguaçu river to the ‘devil’s throat’ view point where we got completely soaked by the waterfall spray.

We then went on a short ‘jungle safari before boarding a speed boat and went rapidly up to the falls – they are stunning to look up at, and we got very wet when they sailed into the spray streams – it was fun – lots of rainbows!

We’re very excited as tomorrow morning we cross to border to Brazil – 20 minutes drive, spend another couple of hours looking at the falls and then meet 2 of our best mates, OBE and Penny at the airport in Rio for 10 days of fun!
