Enter South Africa: 7th September 09

After an early start (5am!) we drove across the border to South Africa and stopped in a small town called Springbok to visit the supermarket – then drove on to our campsite. The campsite was in the hills half way between Springbok and Cape Town. As we got further South the weather got worse and worse until we arrived at the campsite in a rainy gale – a HUGE change from sunbathing yesterday! It’s the beginning of spring here, so the weather is fairly unpredictable.

After putting up or tents (Stuart and Martin forgot to anchor theirs down so it blew away!) we went to the bar for a wine tasting session – this campsite has its own vineyard – result! So huddled around the fire we tried 7 different wines and then some more – good night had by all!
