Cape Town: 10th September 09

Yay – weather was superb today - bright, sunny and warm, with a nice chilly breeze. We walked down to the waterfront in the morning and did some shopping then, after a quick tea and cake stop at the hotel, went up table mountain. We got the cable car, which rotates as you go up and from the top you get great views for miles and miles. Whilst we were there a cloud descended, so suddenly we were freezing and the view was gone – but hey ho, it’s all part of the experience!

In the evening Stuart, Martin and Rick came to find us at our hotel. Unfortunately our Namibian SIM card had run out of credit and can’t be topped up here – and you can’t register a new SIM unless you’re a resident – and the hotel’s phone can’t ring international mobiles so we couldn’t get in touch with anyone – once they’d found us we sat in our room and had a few bevies, then went to a fab trendy ‘fusion’ restaurant called Ginja – was superb and good value too - like Hoxton but without the prices. So that was our last goodbye to the tour group – we’re on our own now – yay! (although we’ll miss Rick, he’s been great company for the last few weeks!)
