Today we began a 3 day trip which will culminate on Thursday with a flight over the Nazca lines. We travelled all morning by bus to Paracas, 3 ½ hours south of Lima. The landscape here is completely different to our expectations – we’re actually in a desert - we didn’t even realize they had deserts here in South America!
After lunch we went for a tour of the local National Park, just outside the gates of our hotel. The guide explained about the local birds, and how the area developed its unique features – very good!
After the tour we returned to our hotel and sat on the beach reading our books – a nice lazy time!
