Yesterday we hung around the bungalow planning the next couple of week’s activities. At lunchtime we had Phad Thai, which we cooked ourselves, supervised by ‘Mum’, a free lesson in cooking delicious food is not to be missed!
Today we drove to the Burmese border as we needed to extend our Thai visas. We were only in Burma for 10 minutes. In that time I was offered Viagra 6 times, and Matt 7 times – he must look more needful than me!
After that we headed to the hills and visited the King’s Mother’s villa and gardens – stunning. Adjacent was ‘The Hall of Inspiration’ which tells the story of the Royal Family and credits the king’s mother with single-handedly stamping out the opium trade!
In the evening we relaxed at the bungalows, ate more delicious food and drank wine with Jim!
