Hue, Vietnam: Friday 8th

Today we took a trip on a dragon boat along the perfume river to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, and the tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Minh Mang. All were very impressive and much more intact than the royal citadel – no bombing here!
Unfortunately as we arrived at the pagoda the heavens opened and it didn’t stop raining for 6 hours. Typical. The rainy season occurs at different times all over SE Asia, so although we caught the tail-end in Cambodia, we’ve reached central Vietnam in the middle of its rainy season. The North, where we head tomorrow is meant to be dry. Phew!
